Louise Myrtle Austin Funeral services for Louise Myrtle Austin, 81 ,of Harrisonburg, were held at Birds Creek Baptist Church on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 2: p.m. Interment followed at Siloiam Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday. Mrs. Austin was born September 30, 1927 in Harrisonburg, and passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at LaSalle General Hospital Jena. She was a resident of Harrisonburg and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Austin; mother, Lessie Jones Coker; father, Clarence Coker; a daughter, Elizabeth Austin; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include daughters, Sherry Austin Townsend and husband, Wayne, of Harrisonburg, Pat Austin of Brandon, MS, Jennie Allen of Jena; sons, John Austin of Harrisonburg, Carl Austin of Vicksburg, MS, and Earl Ray Martin of Wisner; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Virginia Townsend of Harrisonburg and Dollie Young of Olla; and a host of great nephews and nieces. Pallbearers were John Austin, Howard Morgan, Marty Joe Chapman, Wayne Townsend, Scotty Boothe, Johnny Earls, Curtis Butler and Rusty Boothe. |
