Ferriday visits Sterlington Don't let Sterlington's 2-4 record fool you. It sure doesn't fool Ferriday High head coach Freddie Harrison.
The Trojans visit Sterlington Friday in a District 3-3A contest.
"They have played the likes of Rayville, Ouachita Christian, West Ouachita, Winnfield and Oak Grove," Harrison said. "They set themselves up for good power points and they are going to make a run."
The contest is the district opener for Sterlington, while Ferriday lost to Jonesboro-Hodge last week in its district opener.
"I have a lot of respect for Coach Harrison," said Sterlington coach Mike Collins. "He is an intense guy who gets the best out of his players. They may be a little young, but that doesn't mean anything because they have six games under their belt."
Harrison said Sterlington is balanced.
"The can run the power I right at you or throw it," he said. "We expect their guys to be performing on all cylinders."
s just points to the Cleveland Browns' upset win over the New York Giants Monday night as an example of the most talented team not always winning.
"You just take it one play at a time, execute that play and give 100 percent and anything can happen," he said. "We may have a lack of depth, but we won't have a lack of effort." |
