AC falls, Trinity wins At this stage, it all comes down to believing for Adams County Christian School.
"The guys had a chance and it just comes down to believing you can do it," said AC coach Paul Hayles. "At some point they have to believe they can win."
ACCS, looking for its first win since 2006, fell behind Claiborne Academy 24-0 at halftime before losing 31-14. Bryce Murray returned the second half kickoff 83 yards back for a touchdown.
ACCS travels to Prairie View in Bastrop on Friday.
Trinity Episcopal kept its unbeaten streak in tact with a 35-12 win over Silliman in Clinton, La., Friday. Kent King scored on a 50-yard punt return and 6-yard run. Brandon Daggs had a 20-yard interception return for a TD. Wells Middleton scored on a 1-yard run and returned a fumble 17 yards for a score.
Tensas Academy celebrated Homecoming with a 40-16 win over Mt. Salus Friday.
The Chiefs led 16-0 after one period of play as Mitch Lansing caught a 56-yard pass from J.T. James. Austin Emfinger caught the conversion pass from James.
Emfinger increased Tensas' lead later in the period by catching a 34-yard touchdown pass from James.
Tensas Academy scored three touchdowns in the second period as Kellon Lee scored on an 8-yard run and caught a 44-yard scoring pass from James.
The final Tensas score came on a 1-yard run by James.
Tensas hosts Kemper Academy Friday in St. Joseph. |
