Huntington's basketball season doesn't start for another month, but fans may have been a bit confused with they saw the football score from Tallulah Friday night.

The Hounds outscored Tallulah, 58-49 in a wild MPSA District 6A contest.

"We have some things we have to get corrected," said Huntington coach Chad Harkins. "We're just glad to come out of there with a win."

Huntington answered on its next possession as Jeremy Randall scored on a 2-yard run. Josh Lee ran in the conversion.

Huntington was 5-for-8 on two point conversions.

"I think that was the only thing that saved us," Harkins said.

The Hounds stopped the Trojans and Randall, who finished with 193 yards on 15 carries, scored on a 64-yard run. Lee an in the conversion to give the Hounds a 16-7 advantage.

Tallulah scored early in the second quarter, but Huntington answered with touchdown runs of 18 and 15 yards by Randall.

Tallulah scored on a pass with 14 seconds remaining in the first half to pull to within 30-29.

Randall scored on a 10-yard run to start the third period and Lee added a 51-yard gallop late in the third quarter.

Randall scored his sixth TD on a 32-yard run in the final period.

Kevin Brown scored the final Hound touchdown on a 25-yard run.
