Herbert Valentine Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Valentine, 80, of Waterproof were held at Young's Funeral Home, Ferriday, on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Curtis Smith officiating.
Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Valentine was born November 14, 1927, in Natchez and passed away Friday, October 17, 2008, at Riverland Medical Center Ferriday.
He was a resident of Waterproof and a mechanic retired from Locust Ridge Gas Company.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence C. Valentine, Sr.; mother, Rena Yates Valentine; sister, Doris Smith; brothers, Hollis Valentine and Lawrence Valentine Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Valentine of Waterproof; son, H. Wayne Valentine of Rockwall, TX; brothers, Melton Valentine of Waterproof and Johnny Valentine of Vidalia; sisters, Carloyn Johnson of Vidalia and Ann Douglase of Vicksburg, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers were Sambo Jones, Archie Turner, Harry Ball, Billy Sanders, Albert Lee, and Ronnie Goodwin.
Honorary pallbearers were Bubba Rushing, T.C. Lee, and Ray Mize. |
