Looking for All-Parish, All-Time team OK, now it's your turn. I've been out on so many limbs the past two months I feel like I should be feeding worms to my babies.
Over the past few weeks I've shared my updated All-Faircloth team, Pre-Faircloth team, Ferriday Trojan team, Huntington team and Ferriday Bulldog team.
So do you really think I am foolish enough to attempt an All-Parish team? Not gonna happen.
That's where you come in - and I hope it's a lot of you.
I'm looking for an All-Time All-Parish team.
Send me you top three picks at each position going all the way back to 1927 when Ferriday High began football.
Pick three quarterbacks, six running backs, 15 offensive linemen, 12 wide receivers, three tight ends, 15 defensive linemen, 12 linebackers, 12 defensive backs, three kickers and three punters.
Number each pick as 1, 2, 3...
You don't have to pick the maximum at each position, but, believe me, you won't have a problem there. And you don't have to be from the parish to pick. If you know of one or two players who played here, cast them a vote.
I certainly had trouble deciding who was on the team, who was honorable mention and who to leave off.
And that is not including Monterey's brief fling into football. There were some outstanding players there such as Kevin Ingram, Glenn Lipsey, Brad Mount, A.G., Jody and Justin Green, Deniis Morace, Sam Charrier and several others.
What I would like you to do is either e-mail me (joey@concordiasentinel.com), call me (318-757-3646) or mail me (P.O. Box 1485, Ferriday, La. 71334) with your selections.
I'm hoping to get enough by the final day of December 10 to share with folks on Dec. 31.
Also, I ask if you can include your pick for the best football player ever in Concordia Parish.
On New Year's Eve, I will have a special feature on the top vote-getter and reveal "your" All-Parish team.
You can go to Concordiasentinel.com and find the specific teams if you need some help at some positions. The six stories will be all under
