Lady Hounds fall to AC, Franklin Huntington's Lady Hounds tipped off the season with a 42-25 loss to Adams County Christian Lady Rebels Tuesday.
The game was tied at 10-10 before the Lady Rebels went on a 22-0 run that lasted into the third period.
The contest was the first for Lady Hound head coach Nicky Pere´ and also Melanie Hall, who joined ACCS from Trinity this season.
Hall coached AC's junior high girls before joining Trinity.
Sara Beth Fuller led ACCS with 14 points.
Abi Brown paced Huntington with 13 points.
"We battled for a quarter," said Huntington coach Nicky Pere.´ We didn't match up well inside and they made a lot of second shots. But I saw a lot of hustle and had some girls come off the bench when we got in foul trouble and did a good job. We are an athletic team and we can run and jump with anybody. We're just not that big, but I saw a lot of hard play."
Huntington faces Oak Forest today (Wednesday) in its final game of the tournament.
Huntington hosts ACCS Tuesday.
If Huntington's football team wins Friday in its first round playoff contest against Newton, there will only be a junior varsity boys game and junior varsity and varsity girls games.
Huntington hosted the Lady Hound Jamboree Thursday.
Huntington fell to ACCS 13-8 in its first game and lost to WCCA in the final game.
Abi Brown scored six of Huntington's first seven points against ACCS. |
