Lady Hounds battle ACCS

Huntington's Lady Hounds battled Adams County Christian School for three quarters before the Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Hounds 16-6 in the fourth quarter for a 47-36 win.

There was no boys game because the Hound football team is in the playoffs.

Huntington led ACCS 10-8 after one period and 20-19 at halftime.

AC took a 31-30 lead in the third period before going on a run in the final period.

"We showed a lot of improvement," said Huntington girls coach Nicky Pere.´ "The girls got after it and played better. I am very proud of the effort. We just want to continue getting better and be competitive when we get to district."

Emilee Johns led the Lady Hounds with 10 points, while Sara Hoover added nine.

ACCS won varsity girls game. 28-8 as Allie Booth, Taylor Greene, Tori Edwards and Emily Pearson each scored two points.

ACCS won the junir varsity boys game 39-32 as Blaine Fletcher netted 14 for Huntington.

The Lady Hounds fell to Oak Forest 59-25 Nov. 5 in the ACCS School Tip-Off Tournament.

Huntington trailed 15-4 afer one period and 36-10 at halftime.

Abi Brown led the Lady Hounds with nine points. Emilee Johns added eight.

Huntington plays in the Silliman Tournament beginning next Wednesday.
