Monterey competes at Grace Christian

Monterey's Lady Wolves lost two games by a total of five points at the Grace Christian Tournament last week.

Monterey's girls fell to Grace Christian, 35-31 before being edged out by Reeves 25-24.

Grace Christian outscored Monterey's girls 22-16 in the second half to pull out the win.

Ariel Hector led Monterey with nine points, while Kristen Lipsey added eight.

Against Reeves, Monterey led 8-6 after one period and increased that lead to 17-10 at halftime.

Both teams scored two points in the third period beore Reeves outscored Monterey 13-5 in the final period.

Kristin Lipsey led Monterey with 12 points.

Monterey's boys fell to Grace Christian 78-38 before losing to Reeves by a 43-39 score.

Cade Crum scored nine against Reeves, all on 3-point shots.

Josh Chapman added eight.

Chapman led Monterey with 13 points against Grace Christian. Austin Lipsey added nine, including two 3-pointers.
