Graveside services for Peggy Joyce Gordon Moncrief, 69, of Vidalia were held Friday, November 14, 2008, 2 p.m. at Hedrick Cemetery in Eva under the direction of Comer Funeral Home. Dr. Ralph Webber officiated.

Mrs. Moncrief was born April 4, 1939, in Eva to Frank and Birdie H. Gordon. She passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at her residence.

Mrs. Moncrief had been a lifelong resident of Concordia Parish and a member of First Baptist Church in Vidalia. She retired as church secretary with over 30 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard M. Moncrief Sr.; and a sister, Emmilee Feierabend.

Survivors include two sons, Richard M. Moncrief Jr. of Marksville and Charles R. Moncrief of Vidalia; two sisters, Marilyn Frith and husband, Ed, of Mansfield, and Phyllis Dean Hamilton and husband, Dixie, of Eva; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Don Hamilton, Chucky DeWeese, Corey Frith, Corky Frith, Glen Bringol and Russ Caldwell.
