Story Archives: Ferriday to hike tap-in fees

Ferriday to hike tap-in fees
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Due to mounting losses for tap-in services, the Ferriday Town Council voted to raise fees charged to future residents and businesses who are provided hook ups to the town's sewer and water lines.

The amount of that fee will be determined after further study.

"This is not going to affect anyone in the town now," said Mayor Glen McGlothin.

The mayor said the town presently charges a $350 tapping fee.

"Most towns charge $1,500," he said. "It costs us $11,000 to tie three people in Woodland into one tap."
