Charges against former Ferriday Police Chief Robert "Rock" Davis, 52, of Ferriday were dropped this morning (Wednesday) during proceedings in Seventh Judicial District Court.

"I'm just glad it's over," Davis said today. "I was innocent from the start. The trouble and the pain that my family has gone through and the embarrassment have been difficult. I'm glad it's over with."

Davis was one of five former Ferriday police officers indicted by the parish Grand Jury in March following a lengthy investigation by the District Attorney's office involving citizen complaints.

Others indicted included Rickey Hollins, Willie Robinson, Juanita January and John Hawkins.
