Vidalia High's boys and Ferriday's girls will be looking to win their second straight Ronnie Brown Memorial Basketball as the Vikings host the tournament this week.

Vidalia's boys defeated Ferriday in the championship game last year, outscoring the Trojans 6-2 in overtime for a 49-45 win.

"It would be nice to win it two years in a row, but the main thing we want to do is get in as many games as possible before we start district," said Vidalia High boys basketball coach Robert Sanders.

Ferriday's girls defeated Block in the title game last year.

The tournament tips off Thursday with Tensas' girls facing Sicily Island at 4 p.m., followed by Tensas against Sicily Island in a boys game.

At 7 p.m., Richwood faces Block in a girls contest, followed by Block against Ferriday in a boys game.

Richwood's girls return to the tournament after winning it two years ago.

On Friday, the winner of the Tensas-Sicily Island girls game faces Vidalia at 5 p.m.

The winner of the Richwood-Block girls game faces Ferriday at 6:30 p.m.

The winner of the Tensas-Sicily Island boys game faces Vidalia at 8 p.m.

The girls championship game will be played at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by the boys championship game at 7:30 p.m.
