Huntington falls to Trinity

Huntington dropped a pair of games at Trinity Episcopal Saturday in Natchez as the Hounds fell 69-55, while the Lady Saints defeated Huntington 47-38.

Trinity's boys led Huntington 21-3 after one period before the Hounds cut that lead to 29-18 at halftime.

"We didn't come out focused," said Huntington coach Tyler Pere.´ "But we came back and made a game of it. We just lost our composure at the end."

Trinity outscored Huntington 40-37 in the second half.

Jeremy Randall led Huntington with 23 points, while Kevin Brown added 15 and Tyler Pere´ 10.

Huntington's girls were tied with Trinity 8-8 after one period before the Lady Saints took a 19-16 halftime advantage.

Trinity outscored Huntington 7-6 in the third period and 21-16 in the final quarter.

Julie Moak led Huntington with 18 points, while Emilee Johns added 12.

"The girls played a heckuva game and I was real proud of their effort," Pere´ said. "It was one of our better games this season."

Huntington dropped a pair of games to Silliman Monday night in Ferriday.

Huntington's boys fell 42-31.

"We had five boys play the entire game and I was real proud of their effort," Pere´ said. "They played together and gave a great effort."

Josh Lee and Jess Dossett led Huntington with 11 points each.

The Lady Hounds fell to Silliman 46-25.

Kristen Havard and Sara Hoover led Huntington with six points each.

"That was one of our worst games of the season," Pere´ said. "We got outhustled and outrebounded. The girls were just not focused."
