Budget build to locate in Ferriday Wal-Mart building

Budget Build Lumber & Supply Inc., of Ferriday will move across the Hwy. 84 into the old Wal-Mart building early next year.

Budget Build manager James King said the move should take place at the end of February or the first of March 2009.

"This is going to be a total upgrade for us," King said. "Space is really a problem for us now. We're also going to put in some roll-up doors to have a drive-in for our customers."

King said new fixtures will be installed into the building, which will also be painted.

"There's a good bit of work we've got going into it," he said.

Budget Build is leasing its current building.

"The new building will be a lot more convenient and we won't have to put up with leaking roof problems," he said.

King said he will hire about five more employees when the move is made.

"If sales increase, like we think they will, we'll hire more than that," he said.

King said the large parking lot will also be an added benefit.

"That will be tremendous for us because our current parking lot needs work," he said. "This move will also allow us to expand our hardware area which we are so badly in need of and be able to put in more things. I'm looking forward to carrying more seasonable items that I am not able to do right now. because of space."
