Block' High lineman Trey Vault was selected to the Class 1A all-state football team by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association as a defensive lineman.

Vault, a 6-1, 179-pound sophomore, made 66 tackles on the year which included 15 sacks and six forced fumbles.

Also named to the team was Class A state champion South Plaquemines' top receiver Bradley Sylve (45 catches, 1,174 yards, 13 TDs), who led all of the all-State receivers in receptions.

South Plaquemines defeated Christian Life 62-16 in the state championship game as Sylve had 113 receiving yards and rushed for 67 more in the win.

Sylve is the son of former Vidalia High standout Eddie Ray Jackson.
