Funeral services for Carl Boykin, 98, of Ferriday, were held at Young's Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, 10 a.m. with Rev. Gaylon Dawson officiating.

Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday

Mr. Boykin was born November 15, 1910, in Philadelphia, MS and passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008, at Residence Ferriday.

He was a resident of Ferriday and a truck driver all of his life until retirement.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin Boykin; his mother, Mary Doby Boykin; his wife, Helen Boykin; daughters, Lucille (Boykin) Bamburg and Wanda Boykin Clay; sister, Mamie Webb; brothers, Feland Boykin, Alvie Boykin, Jack Boykin and Elwood Boykin; and grandson, Chris Powers.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Boykin of Ferriday; sons, Joe Boykin and wife, Lillie, of Ferriday, Zane Boykin and wife, Carolyn, of Ferriday, Keith Boykin and wife, Carla, of Woodville, MS, Wren Boykin and wife, Barbara, of Natchez, Freddie Boykin and wife, Willie Mae, of Denham Springs; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bradley Garrett, Stewart Boykin, Tommy Boykin, Ivan Hedrick, Carl Boykin and Carlton Boykin.
