Helen 'Jicky' Taylor
Funeral services for Helen "Jicky" Taylor, 60, of Ferriday were held today, Wednesday, December 17, 2008, at 12 noon at Church of God Apostolic Faith Church in Ferriday with Bishop James Calhoun officiating.
Burial followed at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Ms. Taylor was born December 1, 1948, in Laurel, MS, the daughter of Isaac and Helen Smallwood Taylor. She passed away December 11, 2008, at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
She was a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Arthur and Isaac Taylor; and one sister, Julia Taylor.
Survivors include three sons, Calvin Smith and Romanda Green, Theodore Shinard and Wanda Jordan, all of Ferriday, and David L. Walker of Houston, TX; two daughters, Gloria Hall of Houston and Gloria J. Townsend of Ferriday; two brothers, Ben Taylor of Ferriday and Cleo Summerall of Ellisville; one sister, Thelma Mason of Ferriday; three godchildren, Pamela Thompson of Clayton, Niecy Smith of Vidalia and Barbara Piercefield of Houston; 11 grandchildren; one uncle, Tommy Pruitt of Ellisville, MS; and a number of nieces and nephews. |
