Vidalia High picked up a pair of wins in the Miss-Lou Doubleheader over the weekend, defeating two teams from the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

"It doesn't help us any as far as power rankings are concerned, but I think it was good for us to see different type of competition," said Vidalia head coach Robert Sanders. "We just have to continue playing with that same kind of intensity."

The Vikings defeated Bay High of Bay St. Louis 76-48 Friday.

Vidalia led 20-8 after one period and 36-13 at halftime.

Quartrell Thomas led the Vikings with 21 points, while Torrey Dixon and Gary Stewart added 13 points each.

On Saturday, Vidalia defeated Ocean Springs, 79-62.

Vdalia led 19-12 after one period and 33-31 at halftime.

The Vikings pulled away in the final period, outscoring OSHS 29-19.

Thomas led Vidalia with 28 points, while Stewart and Dixon added 16 points each.

Vidalia's girls fell to Bay High 71-16 on Friday.

Skyler Marceleno led Vidalia with five points.

Vidalia will be participating in the Sicily Island C.B. Coney Tournament next week.
