Lady Trojans fly past Natchez

Ferriday High's girls basketball team held Natchez High to single digits in three of four quarters as the Lady Trojans cruised past the Lady Bulldogs 74-38 in Natchez Tuesday.

Ferriday led 17-8 after one period and 33-23 at halftime.

The Lady Trojans outscored the Lady Bulldogs 41-15 in the second half.

Jalessia Davis led Ferriday with 20 points, while Jasmine Upchurch added 12 and Atasia Banks 11.

Ferriday's boys fell to Natchez, 60-43.

Ferriday led 13-12 after one period, but the Bulldogs took a 31-27 halftime lead.

Natchez outscored Ferriday 11-6 in the third period and 16-10 in the final quarter.

Demarco Lewis led Ferriday with 21 points, while Carlton Robinson added 10.

Ferriday dropped a pair of games at Madison Parish Friday, but Lady Trojan coach Lisa Abron found a lot of positives from her team's play in a hostile environment.

Ferriday led Madison 27-25 at halftime before the Lady Jaguars outscored the Lady Trojans 20-9 in the third period.

Chante Poole led Ferriday with 16 points, while Jasmine Upchurch had 15 points.

Ferriday's boys fell to Madison's boys, 68-58.

Ferriday hosts Block before beginning district play at Sterlington on Tuesday.
