Graveside services for Herman Ray Sanders, Jr., 55, of Alexandria, formerly of Clayton, were held today, Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 2 p.m. at Calhoun Cemetery in Clayton with Rev. John Williams and Rev. Leslie Wooten officiating. Services were under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Mr. Sanders was born June 26, 1953, in Winnsboro to Herman Ray Sanders, Sr., and Rosalie T. Sanders. He died Monday, January 12, 2009, in Alexandria.

Mr. Sanders had been a resident of Alexandria for 16 years and formerly of Clayton. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Ray Sanders, Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Rosalie T. Sanders of Clayton; brother, Roger David Sanders of Lake St. John; sister, Deborah Sanders Brown and fiancee', Wade Oliveaux of Ferriday; and his second family at Bouef Trace Community Home in Alexandria.

Pallbearers were L. E. Tyler Jr., Buddy Farrar, John Graney, Wesley McManus, Wade Oliveaux and David Eames.

Honorary pallbearers were Henry Farrar, Hardy Farrar and the residents and staff at Bouef Trace Community Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries, 910 Main St., Pineville, LA.
