Ferriday Police have issued warrants for a Ferriday man following a shooting incident Saturday morning on Seventh Street near Texas and Florida streets.

According to Ferriday Assistant Police Chief Johnny Evans, Lucky Morales, 17, of Ferriday was walking down the street Saturday at about 10:30 a.m. when someone fired six time at him, hitting him once in the right elbow.

"This stemmed from an incident involving drugs in which the same guy supposedly shot into Lucky's house on Doty Road near Smith Lane on Wednesday (Jan. 5) night," Evans said.

Evans said the 17-year old Morales was treated for the wound at Riverland Medical Center and released later Saturday.

Evans said warrants have been issued for the alleged shooter, but did not want to release the name.
