Funeral services for Mr. Jack J. Lofton, 81, of Monterey were held at Bougere Baptist Church in Deer Park, on Monday, January 26, 2009, at 10 a.m. with Bro. Michael Cowan and Bro. C.D. Beard officiating. Interment followed at Campbell Magnolia Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday

Mr. Lofton was born March 16, 1927, in Brookhaven, MS and passed away Friday, January 23, 2009, at his residence in Monterey. He was a resident of Monterey, an electrican, and a member of the Bougere Baptist Church.

He proudly served in the Army during WW II, he was a member of the VFW, and IBEW Local 446 in Monroe for 60 years. He was a Mason and a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Lofton; mother, Bessie Lofton; brothers -- Ned Lofton and wife, Yara, Louis Lofton and wife, Loyce, Dennis Lofton and wife, Evelyn, and Brelan Lofton.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Lofton of Monterey; sons -- Ronnie Lofton and wife, Kristy, of Sicily Island, Barry Barrington of Vidalia, Todd Barrington of Monterey, George Hudson and wife, Merry, of Harrisonburg, and Robert Hudson of Monterey; daughters -- Jackie Coco and husband, Donald, of Monterey, Cheryl Bonds and husband, Al, of Natchez, Terrie Adams and Bryant, of Natchez; a sister, Gaye Boone and husband, Thomas, of Wisner, a sister-in-law, Shirley Lofton of Kileen, TX, 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Buddy Watson, Eddie Boone, Don Blankenstein, Dale Bourgeois, Mickey Gallup and Billy Mullins.

Honorary pallbearers were Matt Bryan, Hayden Coco, Rex Lofton, Geody Clark, Steve Jones, Eric Adams, Jamie Adams, Israel Hutson and Gabriael Hudson.
