Crop production meeting slated January 29 in Monterey
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
According to Glen Daniels, LSU AgCenter County Agent in Concordia Parish, the 2009 Crop Production Meeting will offer the latest recommended soybean, feed grain and rice production practices for parish and area farmers.

This meeting will be held on January 29, 2009, at Monterey Baptist Church in Monterey, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Soybeans and feed grains will be discussed in the morning session, and rice in the afternoon session.

Attendance at the entire morning session meeting is required for pesticide card recertification. This meeting will be the only opportunity for pesticide recertification in Concordia Parish. If your card expires in March, 2009 and you cannot attend this meeting, you may attend a meeting in another parish or take an exam in the Extension Office.

LSU AgCenter state specialists will be presenting all pertinent information that is crucial to soybean, feed grain and rice production for 2009 at this meeting and be available to answer questions on technical problems facing farmers. The local FSA Office will also give any updates from their office. All farmers are encouraged to take advantage of this well planned production meeting designed to meet the demands for producers in 2009. If you have any questions, please call Concordia Extension Office at 336-5315 or 336-7084.
