Monterey girls get district win Monterey's girls improved to 2-1 in District 3B with a 51-38 win over Epps Tuesday.
Monterey's boys fell to Epps, 71-46.
In the girls contest, trailed 18-13 after one period, but Brooke Baker and Kristen Lipsey scored six points each in the second period as the Lady Wolves took a 29-28 halftime advantage.
Monterey outscored Epps 11-6 in the third period and 11-4 in the final quarter to pull away.
Baker finished with 18 points, including two 3-pointers, while Lipsey netted 11. Kendall Lipsey added 11 points, while Ariel Hector chipped in nine.
In the boys contest, Epps led 16-7 after one period and 33-15 at halftime.
Josh Chapman led Monterey with 18 points, while Ross Lipsey added 12.
Monterey's girls fell to Kilbourne 62-36 on Friday.
Ellen Bairnsfather led the Lady Wolves with 13 points.
Kilbourne's boys defeated Monterey, 70-44.
