Burget names new assistant DA Dist. Atty. Brad Burget announced today (Wednesday) the hiring of David Opperman to serve as an assistant DA.
Burget said Opperman will primarily prosecute felony cases in the Concordia Parish office.
"David is a valued addition to the prosecutorial staff," Burget said. "He has extensive felony trial experience that we can definitely benefit from."
Opperman, age 46, has a private law practice in Vidalia. He worked for the Caddo Parish DA's office for approximately four years and most recently as an assistant DA for East Baton Rouge for two years.
"I look forward to serving Brad and the people of this area," Opperman said of his appointment. "My family and I are looking forward to relocating here as soon as possible."
Opperman currently resides in St. Francisville and is married to the former Jane Chauvin of Vidalia. They have three children.
In addition to working for the DA's office, Opperman said he will continue to maintain his private law practice. |
