Shirley Tipton Amelunke
Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Tipton Amelunke, 73, of Ferriday were held at Young's Funeral Home on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Gene Lee and Rev. Wayne Gray officiating.
Interment followed at Woodland Cemetery, Jena, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mrs. Amelunke was born August 19, 1935, in Catahoula Parish and passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Natchez Regional Medical Center Natchez.
She was a resident of Ferriday and a member of the Ferriday First Baptist.
She was preceded in death by husband, James Tipton, Sr.; husband, Hubert Norman Amelunke; father, Joseph Calvin Chapman; mother, Bessie Alice Purvis Chapman; four brothers -- Herbert, J.C. Jr., Ezra and Albert Chapman; sister, Helen Andrews; and a great grandson, Gavin Reid Butler.
Survivors include her fiance', J.D. Lipsey of Monterey; son, James "Jimmy" Tipton and his wife, Ariane, of Dalton, GA; daughters -- Donna Tipton Morace of Ferriday and fiance' Patrick Grayson of Clayton, Lori Tipton, Misty Tipton Rush of Vidalia, Mindy Grayson and husband, Daniel, of Vidalia; four brothers -- Frank, Clifton, Byran and Barry Chapman; sister, Lea Palmer; special sister-in-law, Ruth Tipton; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jackie Johnston, Land Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Donny Chapman, Joey Chapman, Josh Falcon and Randy Temple.
Honorary pallbearers were Porky Smith, Cody Beard, Jason Butler, Andrew Clem and Mike Chapman. |
