Funeral services for Mr. Carl R. Knapp, 75, of Waterproof were held Thursday February 12, 2009, 2 p.m. at the Jonesville Penecostal Church with Bro. Bobby Ratcliff and Bro. Melton Rushing officiating. Interment followed at Oakley Cemetery, Gilbert, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Knapp was born December 3, 1933 in Shaw and passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009, in Natchez.

He was a resident of Waterproof, a heavy equipment operator and he proudly served in the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Lallan Knapp; mother, Ruby Morace Knapp; and a brother, Charles Knapp.

Survivors include his wife, Ettie Knapp of Waterproof; sons -- Danny Knapp and wife, Eva, of Clayton, Douglas Knapp of Waterproof, Mack Knapp and wife, Joann, of Denham Springs; daughters --Diane Caldwell and husband, Billy, of Wisner, Debra Johnese and husband, Laudell, of Waterproof, Bobbie Knapp King of Vidalia, and Karen Knapp of Waterproof; five brothers -- Jimmy Knapp and Mary of Ferriday, Max and Peggy Knapp, Sr. of Vidalia, Pete Knapp and Barbara of Arkansas, Jerry Knapp of Lake Bruin and Rev. Jack Knapp and Shirleen of Jonesville; four sisters -- Juanita Allwell of Ferriday, Ruby Moses of Deville, Peggy Smith and Frankie of Deville, and Armenia Cole and Leonard of Deville. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tony Knapp, Randy Caldwell, Wayne Caldwell, James Ray Caldwell, Michael Brownell, Mack Knapp, Jr., Brandon Knapp, Nathan Johnese and Shawn Knapp.

Honorary pallbearers were Laudell Johnese, Billy Caldwell, Russell Johnese, Jimmy King, Jr., David Caldwell and Robert Lee.
