Lady Wolves fall to Block

Monterey opened its softball season with a 2-1 loss to Block High.

The Lady Wolves, playing shorthanded because of basketball, had five hits, with Lauren New leading the way with two singles.

Logan Dale, Holli Clay and Sara Morgan also singled.

Clay allowed three hits, striking out three and not walking a batter.

"I was real pleased with Holli's performance," said Monterey coach Hazel Brallier. "We had six errors, but we had a lot of younger players in the field."
