Monterey's girls finished second in District 3B with a 49-46 win at Epps Friday.

Monterey visits Hathway Thursday in a first-round playoff contest.

The Lady Wolves and Lady Panthers scored four points each in the first period and the Lady Panthers led 18-14 at halftime.

Monterey ouscored Epps 14-12 in the third period and 23-18 in the final quarter for the win.

Brooke Baker led Monterey with 15 points, while Kendall Lipsey and Ellen Bairnsfather added 10 points each.

Monterey's boys fell to Epps, 78-36.

Monterey's boys finish their season at 9-19.

A scheduled game between Monterey and Sicily Island Monday was cancelled.
