Dist. Atty. Brad Burget said Wednesday he has been asked by the Louisiana Legislative Audit Advisory Council to review an alleged check substitution scheme involving a former town clerk who worked during the administration of former Ferriday Mayor Gene Allen.

U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu said Concordia farmers will benefit from agriculture disaster relief funding included in President Barrack Obama's economy recovery bill passed last week.
FERRIDAY $2.3 MILLION WATER PROJECT APPROVED
The Town of Ferriday moved closer to providing major infrastructure improvements to its water system on Friday when the State Bond Commission approved the town's request to borrow $2.3 million for the upgrade.
JURY OKAYS UPGRADES FOR BOTH COURTHOUSES
