Monterey defeated Avoyelles Charter 5-3 in the Menard Tournament on Saturday in a two-inning contest before the rains came.

The Lady Wolves scored four runs in their first at-bat and added one in the second.

Holli Clay held Avoyelles to one hit.

Casey White and Lauren New each singled for the Lady Wolves.

The Lady Wolves beat Pickering 4-3 on Friday.

Monterey continued its strong start, defeating Avoyelles Charter 10-0 on Tuesday.

Clay allowed only one hit in the contest.

Ariel Hector and Casey White doubled and singled for the Lady Wolves.

Taylor Morace, Bailey New and Ellen Bairnsfather each singled.

Monterey, 3-1, hosts Blcok Thursdsy.

"The girls are playing well, we just hope to keep improving," said Lady Wolves head coach Hazel Brallier.
