A. W. Wiley Funeral services for Mr. A.W. Wiley, 76, of Larto were held at Larto Baptist Church on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Mack Walker and Bro. Lloyd Trisler officiating.
Interment followed at Pease Cemetery in Larto under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mr. Wiley was born May 12, 1932, in Jonesville and passed away Friday, February 27, 2009, at Rapides Regional Medical Center Alexandria.
He was a resident of Larto, an oil field superintendent and a member of Larto Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Cleveland Wiley; mother, Florence Adams Wiley; daughter, Darlene McCaskill; three brothers -- Haven Wiley, Hubert Wiley and Sherwin Wiley; four sisters -- Avis Wiley, Vera Wiley, Delia Cupit and Roena Sanders.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patsy Wilson Wiley of Larto; son, Bruce Wiley of Larto; daughter, Shay Seward of Larto; granddaughters -- Angel Coleman and Amber Oxley of Larto; four great grandchildren -- Russell Nelson, Trey Seward, Adrian Seward and Raven Coleman, all of Larto; and sister, Verbia Bordelon of Larto.
Pallbearers were Michael Oxley, Calvin Seward, Mike Herndon, J.J. Wiley, Ronnie Wiley and Burnell Wiley.
Honorary pallbearers were Mitchell Wiley, John Wiley, Wayne Sanders, Kenny Smith, Jerry Dale Book, L.D. Edwards and Sam McClure. |
