Mittie Campbell Wells Mittie Campbell Wells, age 88, formerly of Ferriday died Friday February 27, 2009 in Guthrie, OK.
She was born February 21, 1921, in West Monroe to Elijah Gray and Josie Hoggard Campbell.
She lived 50 years on Lake St. John and was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church. She relocated to Oklahoma in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Mitchell Wells, Sr.; two brothers -- Thomas and Paul Campbell; a daughter, Barbara Wells Patterson; a grandson, David Patterson; three half-sisters and one half brother.
She is survided by a brother George Campbell and wife, Beulah, of Gallatin, TN; two sons -- H.M. "Mike" Wells and wife, Joann, of Edmond, OK, and James Stephen and wife, Linda, of Brandon, MS; one grandaughter, Deborah Wells Ogletree and husband, David, of Houston, TX; six grandsons -- Alan, Herman, Michael and wife Lynn Patterson, Kevin and wife Julie, Mark and wife Jessica, Brian and wife Amy Wells; two great-granddaughters -- Rachel Mae and Ashley Patterson.
Reverend Leslie Wooten officated the services at Youngs Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez. |
