Pere' , Randall, Brown named to first team Three Huntington boys basketball players were named to the District 6-A East Zone Team, while two boys and three girls from the Ferriday school were named as honorable mentions.
Huntington coach David Boydstun was named Coach of the Year in the district after leading the Hounds to the district title and state tournament.
Named to the boys first team were Tyler Pere´, Jeremy Randall and Kevin Brown.
Pere´ was competed in the MPSA Class A All-Star Game in Clinton earlier this month, scoring eight points for the South team, which defeated the North All-Stars 87-86.
Austin Emfinger of Tensas was also named to the first team.
Named as honorable mention for the boys team was Josh Lee and Phillip Washington of Huntington.
Todd Gonda of Wilkinson County Christian Academy was named MVP of the district.
Lady Hounds named as honorable mentions on the all-district team were Emilee Johns, Julie Moak and Abi Brown.
Mary Miller Ratcliff of Tensas was named MVP for the girls, while Chuck Bauerle was named Coach of the Year after advancing the Lady Chiefs to the Overall State Tournament.
Mary Elizabeth Crigler and Ratcliff were named to the first team. |
