Services for Robert Manson "Manny" Pitcher II, 67, a resident of Ferriday were held at Forest Park Westheimer in Houston, TX, on Monday, March 16, 2009.

Interment followed at Serenity Mortuary in Houston.

Mr. Pitcher passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009, in Rayville. He was born May 1, 1941, in Baton Rouge to Manny and Helen Pitcher. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School and from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. Mr. Pitcher served as a medic in the U.S. Army Airborne Special Forces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter, Joan Merritt Pitcher Taylor, of Ferriday; a son, Robert Manson Pitcher III, of Ruston; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy Drake Pitcher Carrothers, of Kemah, TX, and Leslie Merritt Pitcher Robinson, of Dallas.

Mr. Pitcher was married twice, to Joan Applegate, of Ferriday, and to Eileen Cooke, of Ruston.
