DA SEEKS MORE INFO ON FERRIDAY CHECK SCHEME

The District Attorney's office has requested additional information from the Louisiana Legislative Audit Advisory Council on an alleged check substitution scheme concerning the Town of Ferriday.

FINANCIAL REPORT SAYS SHERIFF'S OFFICE FINANCES SOUND

Financial operations of the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office remain sound although net assets have decreased, according to a report released March 18 by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor.

LTC CAMPUS PROJECT BACK ON GO

The long wait is finally over for Mignonne Ater, dean of Louisiana Technical College, Shelby Jackson Campus, in Ferriday. One year after the planned to ground-breaking for a $6 million project to repair and replace current facilities, Ater received word the project is finally moving forward.

PERFORMERS NAMED FOR DELTA MUSIC FEST

Performers and presentations have been finalized for the 2009 Delta Music Museum Festival slated for April 4 in Ferriday. "We're just praying for good weather," said Museum Director Judith Bingham.
