Monterey's softball team improved to 11-9 on the season with a 10-0 shutout of Delhi Charter.

Holli Clay, who has been bothered by tendinitis in her elbow, allowed only two hits in the win, striking out five over four innings.

"Holli did an excellent job on the mound," said Monterey coach Hazel Brallier.

Ellen Bairnsfather, who picked up the save, paced the Lady Wolves' offense with a triple and double, while Taylor Morace singled twice and Clay doubled.

Casey White, Ariel Hector and Logan Dale each singled.

"We had no errors and walked only one batter, which is a big improvement from last year," Brallier said.

The Lady Wolves retrun to play April 7 at Kilbourne in a District 3-B game. Monterey is off during state testing.

The Lady Wolves' district game at Forest that was rained out on March 12 has been re-scheduled for April 13.

The rained out game against Kilbourne on Thursday has been re-scheduled for April 15.
