Huntington-WCCA postponed

Huntington's crucial District 5A contest at Wilkinson County Christian Academy was rained out Tuesday and will be played tonight (Wednesday).

The contest is being played in Woodville.

The Hounds and Rams are tied for second place in the district at 2-3.

"This is a major game for us," said Hound coach Leo Eliser. "We're still in the middle of it."

Franklin is unbeaten in district. The Hounds's scheduled game at Franklin on Friday was rained out. Huntington plays at Tensas on April 7.

The Hounds fell to River Oaks, 11-1 on Monday in a non-district game.

Huntington stranded 11 runners in the contest, and committed 10 errors in the field.

Huntington (2-6) scored its only run in the top of the fourth inning. Wilson walked, went to third on a single by Josh Lee and scored on a passed ball.

"Errors are killing us," Eliser said. "We had several players walk, but then we hit into four double plays. It's real disappointing to see us play well one night and turn around and play bad the next night."

Huntington's hosts River Oaks Friday before welcoming Trinity on Monday night in the final home game of the season.
