Graveside funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Maier, Sr., 70, of Jonesville, were held at Oswalt Cemetery on Friday, April 3, 2009, at 4 p.m. with Rev Stan Wyant officiating. Services were under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Mr. Maier was born April 20, 1938, in Oakdale and passed away Wednesday April 1, 2009, at Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville. He was a resident of Jonesville, a mechanic, and he served in the in the Korean War with the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Henry Maier; and mother, Margaret Dunn Maier.

Survivors include daughters -- Roxie Eddy of Missouri, Veronica Shipley of Jonesville, and Tracy Bolyer of Jonesville; sons -- William Maier of Lismore, Jimmie Maier, Jr. of Sandy Lake; brothers -- Michael Maier of Monterey and Author Maier, both of Monterey. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jimmie Maier, Jr., L.V. Boyler, Jr., Michael V. Maier, Francis Peebles, James Davis and Dallas Harris.

Honorary pallbearers were Jessie Lee Boyler and William Maier.
