Ferriday High defeated Monterey 11-6 Monday in baseball action at Monterey.

Richard Jefferson picked up the win for the Trojans.

Nieco Amado led Ferriday with three hits, while seven other Trojans had two hits each.

Ferriday dropped a Districxt 2-2A doubleheader to Farmerville Tuesday, losing the first game 5-2 and the second game 6-0.

"We were one two-out hit from really putting a scare into them," said Ferriday coach George Barnes. "I was really impressed with the way we played. The guys are playing a lot better."

Ferriday visits Jonesboro-Hodge in a district game Saturday before hosting Lake Providence on Monday.
