Funeral services for June Irene Partin Hollis, 81, of Waterproof were held Monday, April 13, 2009, 10 a.m. at Clayton Baptist Church with Rev. John Williams, Rev. Leslie Wooten and Rev. Jerry Sharp officiating.

Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hollis was born May 12, 1927, in Henderson, KY, to Lawrence and Minnie Partin. She passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009, in Ferriday.

She had been a resident of this area for 47 years and an active member of the Clayton Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant to the Lord, Jesus Christ. Mrs. Hollis was a homemaker and helped run Hollis Jewelry Co. for 37 years with her husband of 56 years, Arla Hollis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arla Hollis; daughter, Cheryl Dianne Hollis; three brothers -- Arnold, Roger and Arllie Partin; and a sister, Ruby Lamden.

Survivors include three sons -- Ronald Arla Hollis of Boynton, OK, David Lee Hollis and Jeffrey Allen Hollis, both of Waterproof; nine grandchildren -- Delaney Gaunt, Rachel McNew, Coleman Hollis, Audra Lynn Michie, Quentin Hollis, Alton Hollis, Breanna Hollis, Alan Hollis, Samantha Hollis; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Buck Andrews, Sammy Parker, Alan Hollis, John Bonner, Scottie Wright and Roy Wagner.
