Story Archives: New buses arrive

New buses arrive
posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Five new 2009 school buses arrived at the Concordia Parish School Board Central Administrative Office on Thursday, April 9, 2009.

"This is an exciting day for us," said Tom O'Neal, Director of Business Affairs. "This is the first time since 1995 that we have purchased new buses. This is a very visible means for the community to see their sales tax dollars at work as all five buses were purchased through sales tax revenue."

According to Supt. Loretta Blankenstein, these are not regular route buses. She said these new, air conditioned buses will be used for sporting events, field trips and other student activities at all schools in the parish.
