Story Archives: Monterey baseball drops pair

Monterey baseball drops pair
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Monterey dropped a pair of games as the Wolves fell to District 3B champion Forest 15-1 Thursday and to Cathedral 11-0 on Thursday.

Preston Edwards improved to 9-0 for the Green Wave.

"We competed okay against Cathedral," Richard said. "When you play against a team like that, you just can't make mistakes or they will have four or five runs off of it. But I was pleased with our approach to that game and our effort."

The Wolves were unable to get on track against Forest pitcher Logan Pippin on Tuesday as Pippin held Monterey to just five hits.

Dustin Forsse hit a home run for the Bulldogs.

Taylor Campbell scored on a ground ball by Chance Cooper for monterey's lone run. Monterey was led by Campbell and Cooper, who each went 2-for-3.

Monterey hosts Kilbourne Thursday in its final district game of the season. It will also be the final home game of the season.

Monerey plays at Harrisonburg on Tuesday and Grace Christian on April 25.
