The new LSU AgCenter leadership development class -- Lead Louisiana - will start April 28 at the Arcade Theater in Ferriday from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The Lead Louisiana program is designed to enhance the skills of parish leaders in working together to solve problems. This will enable graduates to work in a positive direction that will move Concordia Parish forward and create opportunities in the future for our youth.

The program curriculum will increase the leadership knowledge and skills of elected officials, existing and emerging community leaders, and volunteers. Graduates will become more engaged in community rural development that will benefit our parish.

Curriculum:

Class 1: Foundations of Community Development and Leadership.

Class 2: Communication/Building Effective Teams.

Class 3: Meeting Management/Parliamentary Procedure.

Class 4: Lead Concordia/SWOT Analysis and Community Capitals.

Agenda: Sessions will be held at the Arcade Theater on April 28, May 5, May 12, May 19, 5:30-8:30 p.m. A light meal will be served.

Graduation: May 19, 2009.

Lead Louisiana sponsors are Entergy, Concordia Bank and Delta Bank.
