France honors Natchez veteran

Fielding Tucker of Natchez, a World War II veteran, has been awarded the "Chevalier" (Knight) of the Legion of Honor by the President of France.

"This is a great honor," Tucker said. "It's just hard to describe how grateful I am to receive this."

The announcement was made by Pierre Vimont, France's ambassador to the United States.

Three of Tucker's daughters, Janie Reyes, Becky Ferguson and Diana Hinson, all live in Vidalia, while son, Ed, lives in Natchez; Tony Tucker, Kathy D'Antoni and Mary Ann Eagle live in Lake Charles,
