Ferriday track third at district meet Ferriday High placed third in the District 2-2A Track Meet Thursday.
Jonesboro-Hodge won the meet with 126 points, followed by Sterlington at 91 and Ferriday with 86.
District MVP Gary Mayes won the 1600-run at 5:03, 3200-run at 10:48 and the 800-run with a time of 2:11.
Jerome Ventress placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 41 feet.
Neico Amado finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 10 inches and was fourth in the triple jump at 38 feet, 6 inches. Kendall Boxley placed third in the triple jump at 41 feet, three inches, fourth in the 3200-run at 11:36, and was second in the 1600-run at 5:12.
Ferriday's 800-relay team of Devanta Scott, Julius White, ZuRanie Thompson and Alfred Brown was fourth at 1:34.5.
Amado, Scott, White and Marques Lewis were third in the 400-relay at 44.3.
Lewis, White, Brown and Mayes placed second in the 1600-relay at 3:40.
Thompson placed third in the 200-dash at 53.3, while Lewis was second in the 300-hurdles at 44.2. Scott placed third in the 200-dash at 22,01.
T'Kera White won the 3200-run for the Lady Trojans wtih a time of 13:15, while Morgan Stigall was second at 14:15.
White placed second in the 1600-run at 5:40, while Stigall was fourth at 6:10. White was fourth in the 800-run at 2:46.
Robie Parker was third in the long jump at 13 feet, 8 inches. Chanta Poole, Parker, Fletcher and White were fourth in the 1600-relay. |
