Story Archives: Ferriday kicks off spring drills

Ferriday kicks off spring drills
by Joey Martin - posted E-mail Story E-mail Story | Print Story Print Story
Ferriday High kicked off spring drills Monday as Trojan head coach Freddie Harrison welcomed about 30 players.

"It's going good," Harrison said. "We're just trying to get things going again."

Ferriday finished 5-6 last year, falling to eventual state champion John Curtis in the first round.

"We've got four seniors out right now, we're real young," Harrison said. "But we're battle-tested. We were in almost every game in the third quarter. I think the guys understand what they have to do now to get the job done."

Harrison said he was very pleased with his team's offseason workout sessions.

"They worked hard and we've got a lot of guys who have gotten bigger and stronger," Harrison said.

Ferriday will play a spring football game at Delhi Charter School on May 12.
