WAL-MART CHECK FOR $270,000 IN FRIDAY MAIL

Ferriday Mayor Glen McGlothin said a $270,000 check from Wal-Mart arrived in the mail Friday.

STRAIGHT LINE WINDS CAUSE HEAVY DAMAGE SUNDAY

The Concordia Parish Police Jury is seeking a state disposal permit to remove and burn piles of limbs and debris left in the aftermath of Sunday's storm, which included high wind and hail.

DA ANNOUNCES PERSONNEL CHANGES

District Attorney Brad Burget announced today (Wednesday) that Tron McCoy, who previously served as the DA's victim assistance coordinator, has been appointed a special investigator for 7th Judicial District. Other appointments were also made.
