Waller aids LSU-Eunice to World Series

Bridget Waller of Vidalia helped LSU-Eunice's softball team advance to the NJCAA World Series in Bloomington, Il., for the first time in the school's history.

The sophomore right-fielder is hitting .375 wtih 14 RBI. She has scored 25 runs and has one home run.

LSU-Eunice won three games, including a 2-0 win over defending Region 23 champion Copiah-Lincoln to advance to the World Series. The Lady Bengals lost to Mississippi Gulf Coast 5-4 in the finals, but the top two teams advance.

LSU-Eunice defeated Northwest Mississippi 1-0 in its first game of the Region 23 Tournament as Waller delivered a sacrifice fly to score Hayle Sanchez with the only run of the game.
